About Me

In the 26–27 academic year, I will be an Institute Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Computational and Research Mathematics in connection with the Spring 2027 program Metric Algebraic Geometry: Going Global.

I am currently a PhD candidate in the Mathematics department at UC Berkeley and will graduate in May 2026. My advisors are Bernd Sturmfels and Serkan Hoşten. My research interests are in applied algebraic geometry, specficially algebraic statistics and metric algebraic geometry. In my dissertation, Metric Algebraic Geometry of Grassmannians, I study optimization problems on Grassmannians arising in applications from the perspective of algebraic geometry. I received my B.S. from Harvey Mudd College with High Distinction and Honors in Mathematics. My undergraduate thesis was advised by Michael Orrison and is titled “Long Increasing Subsequences.”

News

I am visiting the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig, Germany for Spring and Summer 2026.

With Andrea Rosana and Bernd Sturmfels, I am co-organizing the workshop Metric Algebraic Geometry: Starting Local in April 2026. Please email me if you are interested in attending.
